American Airlines and Delta Expand Global Travel Rewards

In an exciting move to expand travel options for their customers, American Airlines and Delta Air Lines have both introduced partnerships that bring new perks and opportunities for frequent flyers. As someone who’s a loyal member of both carriers’ loyalty programs, I’m particularly thrilled about these updates!

American Airlines has teamed up with JetSMART, enhancing the award-winning AAdvantage program. This means that travellers can now earn miles on JetSMART flights to some of the most sought-after destinations in Chile, Argentina, and Peru. The partnership follows a 2023 codeshare agreement, and soon, passengers will be able to redeem AAdvantage miles for JetSMART flights. Earning rates will vary by fare class, and elite members get the added benefit of extra bonuses, making it easier to accumulate rewards, especially with American’s recent collaboration with Brazil’s GOL Airlines. If you’re planning to explore South America, this opens up a world of possibilities!

Meanwhile, Delta Air Lines is expanding its reach to Scandinavia through a brand-new codeshare agreement with the Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS). This partnership gives travellers the chance to earn and redeem SkyMiles and SAS EuroBonus points across both airlines, making trips between North America and Northern Europe even more rewarding. With access to 50 additional destinations beyond SAS’s hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm, Delta Flyers can explore more of Northern Europe. SAS customers, in turn, can enjoy the convenience of over 150 North American destinations through Delta’s major hubs in Atlanta, New York, and more.

As someone who loves exploring new places, especially when it means earning more miles, these partnerships are a game changer. Whether you’re flying to South America or Northern Europe, these expanded travel options make it easier to connect with new cultures and explore further than ever before!
