Inside Calatrava’s Ribcage: Museu de les Ciències in Valencia, Spain
Selected Works from the Print Shop
Step inside the skeletal structure of Valencia’s Museu de les Ciències and you’re instantly transported into the mind of Santiago Calatrava. This image captures the essence of his bold architectural vision: a blend of bone-like structure and celestial light.
Taken from the ground floor and looking skyward, the composition accentuates the building’s ribbed interior—a nod to organic form and futurist intent. Beneath it, the softly undulating roof of Restaurante El Mirador adds unique shape and curvature, almost as if nature itself is pushing up through the concrete.
There’s a rhythm in this photo that draws your eye upward, carried by light, shadow, and repetition. It’s a space that doesn’t merely house exhibits; it is an exhibit—of geometry, of possibility, of daring design.
Always worth another visit! Beautiful take!
