La Paz, the capital of Bolivia, is located in a canyon on the Choqueyapu River. The best way to see the city is from high above, the views are amazing. Take something called Mi Teleférico or an aerial cable car urban transit system serving the La Paz–El Alto metropolitan area in Bolivia. It’s a brilliant child of former Bolivian President Evo Morales Ayma, who drafted a bill to construct a cable car system. Upon completing the 10-kilometre (6.2 mi) Phase One (Red, Yellow, and Green Lines) in 2014, the system was considered the world’s most comprehensive aerial cable car system. Other lines and extensions are in planning or construction, and more were built as well. Mi Teleférico is the first system to use cable cars as the backbone of the urban transit network. It also offers an excellent way for visitors like myself to see the city from above for next to nothing as it is very inexpensive. So let’s go for a ride, have at look the photographs:
